How to be the only seller selling a product on Amazon without a BuyBox

We spoke to over 100 retailers who know this problem and there are at least two aspects that are the same for almost all retailers:

1. The own brands or Private-Label Products are also offered on other major marketplaces and/or in our own online shop.

2. The same SKU is used for the items in all listings

How does Amazon manage to find the products on other marketplaces?

It's very simple:

Amazon goes there and reads out the data from the other marketplaces or online shops and compares the products using the EAN number or the SKU (this can usually be easily found in the product's source code).

Possible solutions?

Since you can't change the EAN, the only option is to use a different SKU for Amazon than for other marketplaces or your own online shop.

However, the implementation will be relatively complex, as internal systems such as inventory management and middleware must be adapted accordingly.

Alternative solutions?

Of course, the easiest way is to always offer the lowest price for your products on Amazon or at least always have the same price on Amazon as on all other sales channels.

Alternatively, you can use newsletter vouchers, at least as far as your own online shop is concerned, so that the discount is not visible to other systems.
